Jack May began dancing at the age of 14 at a suburban hip-hop studio in Canberra, frequently representing ACT in national dance events and freestyle competitions.
In 2009 and 2010 Jack visited LA to work with some of the leading choreographers and train in other styles of movement. He performed in Carnival LA / Sydney / Melbourne for a number of international choreographers.
Jack moved to Melbourne in 2010 to pursue a career in the performing arts. Two years later is teaching Hip Hop / Contemporary at several Full Time Dance Institutions, has travelled nationally and internationally teaching, and is now becoming one of Melbourne's most highly sought after urban choreographers.
Jack is Director of the Melbourne based crew 'Sole Symphony' whom were finalists for the 2011/12 Australian Hip Hop Championships, Runners Up for Step Off 2011, competitors in Groove Battlegrounds, and often perform at corporate events and functions. The 'Sole Symphony' Movement provides up-coming artists with a place to shareand learn from industry professionals in an exuberant environment.
Jack is a member of the contemporary company 'Collaboration – The Project', cast member of stage productions Unanswered and Relations. Co-choreographer of the most recent production 'Evolve'. Assistant choreographer for the youth company 'Project Y'. |
